trashing the dress

Our wedding day was rainy. Seattle in October, so no big shock there. Luckily, I don’t mind a little dirt, even on my wedding dress. These shots were taken after we arrived at our venue following pictures at Denny Park, where I hike up my gown as we navigated puddles, trying not to trip. We had just gotten out of the car, I fluffed my dress skirt, and my hands came up filthy. And the dress remains filthy today, in a garment bag, in our spare room. One of these days…

It set in quickly. And it is okay. Dreams of documenting our wedding planning and home projects AS IT WAS HAPPENING were not realized. And, again, that’s okay! Living in the moment and savoring the celebration, we were successful at that 🙂

More to come!

urban whimsy vintage diy inspiration

Prior to our engagement, we often discussed elements which struck our fancy. Ok, usually it was me having most of the discussion. He does have strong opinions about unexpected details, though. For instance, he really pushed for a custom address stamp from etsy for our RSVPs. And DIY invitations. And mini slider appetizers (not so surprising of a request). But more on all that later! For now, here are a few images of inspiration.
